Gurukul Vedic Maths Academy provides online Vedic Maths courses, lesson videos, learning progress features, payments, and student support through its website and mobile application.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following information:

• Name, email address, phone number, and student account details.
• Login information and authentication details required to access the account securely.
• Device-related information such as a device identifier, device name, operating system, and app version for account security and one-device access control.
• Course enrollment, purchased course, lesson completion, video progress, watch time, and learning activity.
• Payment references and transaction status received from our payment service provider. We do not store complete card, bank, or UPI credentials.
• Support messages and information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
• Basic technical logs needed for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

3. How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage student accounts.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
• Enforce the one-active-device access rule.
• Provide purchased courses, lessons, and secure video access.
• Track learning progress and completed lessons.
• Verify payments and activate course enrollment.
• Display a student-specific watermark during video playback.
• Provide account, course, payment, and technical support.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized sharing, and security incidents.
• Improve app performance, usability, and learning experience.

4. Payments

Course payments may be processed through Razorpay or another authorized payment provider shown during checkout. Payment details are submitted directly to the payment provider. Gurukul Vedic Maths receives limited transaction information such as payment reference, amount, status, and course information for payment verification and enrollment.

Payment providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Google Sign-In

When you choose Continue with Google, we may receive basic account information authorized by you, such as your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile information. We use this information only to create, link, or access your Gurukul account.

We do not receive or store your Google password. You can manage connected app access through your Google Account settings.

6. Device access and account security

To protect paid educational content, one student account may be limited to one active device. We use device-related information to identify the active device, prevent unauthorized account sharing, and allow support staff to reset device access when required.

7. Learning progress, videos, and local cache

We may record video start, progress, pause, resume, completion, watch duration, last position, lesson completion, and playback source. This information helps students continue learning and helps us understand course engagement and service performance.

The application may securely store protected video data in private app storage to improve playback and reduce repeated network usage. Such data is not stored in the public Downloads or Gallery folders, is not presented as a downloadable file, and remains subject to login, device, and enrollment validation.

Student-identifying information may appear as a visible watermark on lesson videos to discourage unauthorized recording or sharing.

8. When we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share limited information only when necessary with service providers that help us operate the platform, including:

• Payment processing providers.
• Google Sign-In and authentication services.
• Cloud hosting, database, video delivery, and storage providers.
• Email, support, security, and technical service providers.
• Government authorities or legal parties when required by law or necessary to protect users, rights, property, or safety.

Service providers are expected to process information only for the services they provide and according to applicable privacy and security requirements.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain enrollment and payment records, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

When an account deletion request is approved, information that is not legally required or needed for fraud prevention and legitimate business records will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.

10. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network communication, protected authentication, controlled account access, secure server configuration, and private application storage where applicable.

No digital service can guarantee absolute security. Students should use a strong password, protect their device, and contact us promptly if they suspect unauthorized access.

11. Children's privacy

Gurukul Vedic Maths is an educational service that may be used by students, including children, under the supervision or consent of a parent, guardian, school, or responsible adult where required.

Parents or guardians may contact us to review, correct, or request deletion of a child's information. We do not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising or sell children's personal information.

12. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to:

• Access or correct your account information.
• Reset active device access.
• Withdraw from optional communications.
• Ask questions about how your information is handled.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

We may need to verify your identity before processing sensitive account or deletion requests. Certain payment, tax, security, or legal records may be retained where required.

13. Third-party links and services

The platform may contain links to payment, video, support, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage users to review them.
